| Theme :Inspired Pedagogy The Educational Computing Association of Western Australia's 2005 State Conference (the ECAWA 2005 State Conference) will be held on Tuesday, September 27th and Wednesday, September 28th, 2005. The theme of the conference will be 'Inspired Pedagogy'. The wonderful facilities of Aquinas College in Salter Point have been generously made available to us, and will be the venue for two days of exciting professional learning and professional development opportunities for teachers and educational administrators from around WA. The College is very close to Perth and is easily accessible from the Kwinana Freeway, Canning Highway and Manning Road. Ample parking is available. The activities of the Conference will be centred around the school auditorium, and the Keynote Addresses, Trade Exhibition, Conference Dinner, and morning teas and lunches will take place there. Concurrent Presentations will take place in the nearby computer labs and classrooms. The Keynote Speakers will be Dr Anne McDougall, Associate Professor of Educational Computing and Head of the Department of Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Melbourne, Mr Peter Kent, Deputy Principal of Richardson Primary School in the ACT and leader of the Commander Team of Interactive Whiteboard Experts, and Mr John Treloar, Macromedia’s Education Director, Asia Pacific. (See John's presentation by clicking here) The Concurrent strands will include presentations by Mike Leishman, Kerrie Smith, Paul Newhouse, John Thorpe, Kim Flintoff, Terri Van Zetten, Steve Adcock and others. More details of concurrent presentations and workshops will be added to the website as they become available, over the next few weeks. | ECAWA and GST As a not-for-profit organization with an expected turnover under $100 000, ECAWA has chosen not to register for GST. Among other things, this means that no GST is payable on ECAWA membership fees or ECAWA Conference registration fees and we are not permitted to issue a Tax Invoice or claim GST credits.
