The ICET Invitation Award

 
   

The ICET Invitation Award will be presented by the International Conference on Educational Technology to the presenter at the ECAWA 2007 State Conference who best meets the selection criteria for the Award (below).

The winner of the ICET Invitation Award will be invited to make his or her presentation at the International Conference on Educational Technology in Singapore on the 21st or 22nd of November, 2007. The recipient of the award may also be expected to conduct a three hour workshop for teachers on the 23rd of November.

If the award winner accepts the invitation the cost of his or her airfare, four nights accommodation, his or her conference registration, transport to and from the hotel and conference centre and workshop venue, and some meals will be covered by ICET.

To be considered for the ICET Invitation Award ECAWA 2007 State Conference Presenters must apply prior to the ECAWA conference. This should be done by marking the ICET Invitation Award box on the Presenter Details Form and submitting the form to the Conference Coordinator, by the date indicated on the form.

Selection Criteria

1. TOPIC:
The topic presents innovative pedagogic practices in the use of ICT within the curriculum relevant to schools.

The presentation should situate the topic within contemporary issues such as bridging the gap between school and the community, engaging local communities or developing global citizens.

2. CONTENT:
An abstract for the presentation and supporting materials (e.g. slideshows, text / notes, documents) must be supplied in time to be included in the Conference booklet and on the Conference website. (Please see the Presenter Details form for the respective dates.)

Did the abstract describe the presentation adequately and accurately, and in such a way as to assist delegates to decide if the presentation would be of interest to them?

Were the supporting materials of relevance and useful, and of a high standard of presentation?

It would be particularly useful to have original resources and examples of students' work or students working.

3. PRESENTATION:
Was the presentation that was delivered at the ECAWA conference well organised and professionally presented?  For example, was the presentation engaging, easy to see and easy to hear?

4. EVALUATIONS:
Did the evaluation forms returned by delegates confirm the Committee's assessment of the presentation?

Important Dates for Presenters

The following are final dates. Please try to send you material in ahead of the deadline if it at all possible.

 

June 30th - Presenter Details Forms should be received by the Coordinator by June 30th. All equipment / ICT requests must be included on the form. A draft of the abstract or some brief notes may be included if the abstract has not been finalised. Applications for the ICET Invitation Award close on June 30th.

July 20th - Final abstracts should be received be received by the Coordinator.

July 27th - Support materials for presentations should be received by the Coordinator by today.
