Ian Thompson of Egton Education will present
Education Software Satisfaction Survey

Software is an essential element of ICT. It can make or break the very best hardware and communications solutions. Teachers are now experiencing the roll out of enterprise software by systems level players who feel confident they have world class best practice software, support and training.

This presentation looks at the responses to a survey of Western Australian teachers, based on that used by the New Zealand Ministry of Education, aimed at gauging how they feel about the software they are being asked to use daily as a growing part of their daily teaching.

The presentation seeks to identify key strengths and issues to guide future development.

Just what do Western Australian teachers value, need and wonder about the education software they are using? How close is their feedback to what is publicly posted as the aims and achievements of such software?

Direct from the screen face, we take a look at what teachers say in the responses to our survey.

About the Presenter

Ian Thompson
currently has a dual role as Business Development Manager for both Egton Education and Egton Software, the Australia business units of UK-based Egton Medical Information Systems Ltd, and a leader in the development of Patient Care Systems with over 6000 UK sites under management. Both Egton Education and Egton Software are fast developing reputations for creating cost effective, robust and timely software to markets in the UK, Canada and Australia.

Ian aims to grow business by focusing on Egton’s strength - software, while building strategic partnerships that consolidate and expand Egton’s profile in Australia

Ian has been involved in education and business for some 30 years with his most recent school experience as a teacher in a leading K to 12, independent, co-educational school located in Perth.

After leaving the government system Ian was Business Development Manager WA at Acer Computers Australia, leading up to the successful Department of Education and Training “Notebooks for Teachers” program, before heading back for another stint as a classroom teacher.

Ian’s experiences in Education have not yet satiated his desire to seek continual personal and professional improvement, nor have they quenched his desire to champion life-long education and learning linked to purposeful integration of ICT.  Proof of this lies in Ian’s hands-on management of Egton Education’s Learning Management System, PathwayOne, a venture which, while energising and challenging, involved a huge, personal, learning curve.
