The Printer Port - 1

Eight data lines are available at the standard printer port. Combinations of HIGHs and LOWs on each data line determine which characters will be printed by the printer. To print the letter "A", for example, the computer sends the decimal code 65. The printer interprets this code and prints the letter capital "A". All letters and symbols are printed by using a pattern of decimal codes called the ASCII character set.
