TOUCH
A typwriter for those with limited movement. Requires only ONE switch to control Typing, Saving and Printing. Users can select words from lists or use an on-screen keyboard to type their own words using one switch.

Touch is a 'word processing' (more like a typewriter actually) environment for users with severely limited movement. All commands are performed using just one switch. The default arrangement is set up to work with a joystick button, but ANY switch connected to the joystick port would work. The switch can be operated by any part of the body with reasonable movement control (finger, foot, chin, knee, etc). NOTE: Significant electronic modifications would be needed to cater for eye movement, etc.
INSTALLATION: - Only works with Win95/Win98
1. Create a folder called "C:\TOUCHVB" and download the zipped files into it.
2. Unzip the downloaded file.
3. Copy "IO.DLL" to "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM"
4. Load the Touch project into Visual Basic.
5. Set your screen resolution to at least 800x600 - 256 colours.
6. Plug in a joystick.
7. Run the program and press the Esc key to begin.
Download the Visual Basic 5.0 code here (Includes a readme.doc file)
Download TOUCH.EXE NOTE: You will need the Runtime dlls - MSVBVM50.DLL and IO.DLL and the LIST files. (IO.DLL is a freeware product, but the MSVBM50.DLL file will only be on your system if you have Visual Basic V 5.0, or Win98.) To make sure you have them all, download the VB5.0 code files and install everything into the c:\touchvb directory as outlined above, as if you were going to run the Visual Basic code version.
Plug in a Joystick and press the Escape key to start the highlighting cycle.
Note: This is the preliminary version. I am still working on various aspects. I will upload modifications as I finish them. Feel free to download and experiment.
